This ethics refresher examines ten common ethical missteps counselors make in day-to-day practice, often unintentionally. Using real-world scenarios, participants will explore boundary crossings, documentation errors, confidentiality breaches, supervision issues, and other high-risk areas. The course emphasizes prevention, corrective strategies, and ethical best practices to strengthen professional judgment and reduce liability exposure.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this continuing education program, participants will be able to:

• Identify common ethical mistakes that occur in routine counseling practice.
• Explain the ethical principles and standards implicated in each identified mistake.
• Analyze how systemic pressures, burnout, and role confusion contribute to
  ethical risk.
• Implement practical strategies to prevent ethical errors in clinical work.
• Strengthen ethical awareness and professional accountability through reflective
  practice.
